Here I show you some of my friends, which means other cars which I like very much. Of course most of them are Minis and mostly their owners are also nice guys /and girls. Have a look to my collection of cars from all over the world.
In some cases you will find a full feature of these cars with more details and pics when you click on the picture.
This Mini has been built in 1999 by my actual owner Bobo. Original it has been a '90 Checkmate which was bought for 1€ after an engine fire. After 1 year of work it re-entered the road in 1275ccm carburator Cooper spec with STANDOX flip-flop color, Sparco seats, Vauxhaul Astra GSI digital dash and Ronal wheels. For more comfort during the Mini meetings, Bobo decided to rebuild a 1975 Eriba Puck caravan for travelling.
After 10 years of fun with this couple, Bobo decided to start a new project, so he gave this Mini away and bought me, FAX.
This is SHAUN, a '97 MPI who is the little brother of FAX because his owner is Bianca, the wife of Bobo :-) Bought in 2010 the car is actually in rebuilding process. Car color was british racing green, but Bianca decided to go for a Charcoal body color in combination with the black MPI Cooper interior and cream piping. The restoration work is planned to be finished in September 2012. We will see, keep my fingers crossed.
This Almond green Mini MPI Cooper has just one owner from new- Frank.
He is really a good friend of FAX, because the both cars stood nearly 9month in the same garage side by side. Frank helped a lot during the restoration work of FAX.
"William" the MPI is a lovely piece of Mini sitting on its 10" Minilites. Recaro seats are fitted for sportive riding. After lots of paintwork during the years, William still looks really good. Nevertheless, these car will ever keep its rust issue which started from 1st day on- This car has been a replacement for a previous new- bought mini in same spec. After massive rust issues on this Mini and complaints by Frank this car no.1 has been altered by the dealer and William was ordered.
Kate is a original 1991 Carburator Cooper with a stunning history.
She is the wife of William the Almond green MPI of Frank and started her life as a gift in a prize competition. This car was the 1st price in a raffle from Porsche during the Porsche Cup event at Hockenheimring Germany. In 1991, Porsche introduced the color "Sternrubinrot" which was pink to violet, GRRRRRRRRR.
To promote the color the Mini (1st prize) was painted in that strange color from new in 2K AQcrylic paint which made Kate less sensitive for rust issues. The car is 3rd hand and stood most of its time so that kilometers are very less. In 2008 Frank bought the car and restored it to a high standard. Car color is now Mercedes "Cuprit-brown". In combination with the cream interior, the car is definitely an eyecatcher.
This Mini is owned by our good friend Faxe W. who did the engine and gearbox work on FAX. He offered also the bodyshop for reassembling FAX during nearly three month. The "Williams MPI" was planned as a project car. During decades of years, Faxe built Mini engines and sold technical stuff and spares for Mini (www.faxe-racing.de).
When he got the offer to buy a early MPI in Tahiti Blue, his mind ran wild full of ideas to realize an outstanding high performance MPI based on the Renault Clio Williams theme. It was planned to figure out a good balance between high power A-series engine and useable driveability. Actual there is a 1430ccm engine fitted on a 5speed dog-box. Lots of alloy parts showing KAD as a good friend...
This is Tina's Mini 40, one of the last limited editions ever build by Rover.
Depending on the country in which it was delivered, the colors of the 40s were different. This car is an original low mileage car in solid black with a luxury black leather interior trim. For Germany, 40s have been available in Black, BRG 3, Silver, and Tahiti blue. This car has completely been painted after some bodywork. To describe this car, it needs just one word: NICE!!!
After Bobo has bought FAX in October 2009, Faxe decided to go also for an early Mini and took this grey '64 Morris 970S who has been converted to LHD by a previous owner. The car is in really good condition, but we still plan to do a full restoration on it in the near future. This car was very helpful during the reassembling of FAX. It's very practical to have a complete car of the same period to look at...
This is Gregors MK1 cooper replica based on a carburator Cooper.
The car has been finished after a full restoration right before IMM 2010 in Bavaria.
Its a very tidy "Tartan red" car with "Old English White" roof, sitting on 4,5" X 10" Cooper S steel rims. This car is familar with its owner that they share a tent during the Mini meetings round the world. Few month ago, the car was featured in the Mini Magazin. Best regards to Matt and Jeff, keep on going guys...
This is the nice Mini Pick up of Stephan, the most important Co-worker during the FAX reassembling. Years ago this car has been used as a daily runner, so that its nice condition decreased slightly. After an accident, the car was repainted completely, so that the appearance became even better.
The strange color of Ford's "Peppermint" is related to promotion puposes for Stephans bodyshop www.minicorner.de
Can you imagine that somebody could not remember this car if seen once???
For me, the Minilimo.nl is the best Mini based limo in the world. Three small british cars have been used for this car built by Ivo and Wouter. Check out www.minilimo.nl for more details on this car. It is built to a very high standard with silver / black body color and dark red full leather interior. There is an extra large Webasto sunroof fitted. Inside, a Kenwood Dolby 5.1 system rocks all passengers in combination with flat screen TV.
The Limo was also used as Bobos and Biancas wedding car in 2009.
